The Three A’s

Am I troubled about something in my work today? If I’m not careful, I can find myself endlessly mentally chewing on problems. How many imaginary conversations with bosses and coworkers does it take to completely drain my energy and make me feel like a victim of circumstances?

Is it possible that I could work through problems faster by accepting them exactly as they are? When I pour mental energy into a situation, I’m really trying to change it without changing anything. I’m failing to accept it as part of reality.

Today I will reflect on the three A’s: Awareness, Acceptance, and Action. I will practice moving through each stage by being aware of my feelings, giving the situation over to my Higher Power, and acting on the guidance I receive (if I receive any at all). I will trust that my Higher Power doesn’t require perfect conditions to restore me to sanity. Whatever is going on in my day, we can handle it together.
